Akron 2010: What You Expect, Need and Plan to Do

After experiencing one of their most challenging years ever, many in the nonprofit community are asking “what’s next?”  Ohio Grantmakers Forum invites Akron area funders and nonprofits to explore this important question. 

Join your colleagues for brief presentations on:
• The overall grantmaking outlook for 2010
• Snapshot of community human services needs

The program then continues with small group discussions led by representatives of some of the county’s leading funding organizations.  They will address:
• The grantmaking outlook for their specific organization in 2010
• How they will work more closely with grantees in clarifying expectations for grant requests, collaboration and deliverables surrounding submitted proposals?
• What factors or criteria are utilized to best determine the merits of specific grant requests?   
• What are the “no no’s” surrounding grant proposals?

Grantmakers and nonprofits will leave the program with a deeper understanding of each others expectations and plans for 2010.  And they will gain a clearer picture of how they can better serve their community together.
