Board Meeting Agendas. Generally the initial agenda for the meeting is developed by the Executive Director and then reviewed with the board chair in advance of the meeting so that all areas needing discussion or action are included.
A consent agenda is one in which the major recurring items for board approval – minutes, financial reports – are grouped together and not discussed during the board meeting unless there are questions raised by the members. This requires a high level of commitment on the part of the board members to review the information carefully before the meeting. It also leaves more time for the real work of the board - strategic discussions and planning.
